The starting point for Axiogenesis are murine embryonic stem cells. Through genetic modification and selection of murine embryonic stem cells, Axiogenesis has patented a process for the cell-type specific selection of (heart) cells. This allows the production of cell cultures that are virtually 100% pure and genetically homogeneous.
In keeping with state-of-the-art technology, Axiogenesis now also produces induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cell types, both murine and (in the near future) human.
Mouse heart muscle cells (Murine cardiomyocytes) were the first to be launched in Q1/2008 (Cor.At®). Axiogenesis is the market leader in ready-to-use murine stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes and has also produced several other tissue-specific cells using murine embryonic stem cells as the source (skin, endothelial, neuronal, liver etc.).
